Intro
Some routes look interesting on a map.
Others stay with you long after the ride is over.
The TransTerra Billy Goat Bluff Track falls into the second category and will be etched in your memory for a lifetime.
It’s the kind of adventure riding where the climbs make you question your life choices, the descents have you sweating bullets, and the quiet moments in between feel properly earned. If you’re chasing a ride that’s a little rough around the edges — in the best possible way — this one’s worth your time.
We’ve put together a free GPX file so you can head out and experience it for yourself.
What You’ll Experience
- One of the most picturesque and rewarding tracks in Victorian High Country
- Big views and that satisfying feeling of being properly out there
- Proper steep slopes that are doable but very challenging for a big multi-cylinder bike
Rider Notes
- Bike: Doable on multi-cylinder adventure bikes but definitely better suites to single cylinder Enduro bikes
- Tyres: Durable, aggressive knobby tyres with good grip
- Supplies: Enough water, food, tools and spares for a remote stretch
- This isn’t a route you rush. Build in time for the climbs, recovery, and simply taking it all in.
- Check weather and track conditions
- Let someone know where you’re going
- Expect things to take a little longer than planned
