The north east region of Tasmania holds so many great tracks – this is just one of them.
Lanka Track is actually titled as a “road” but practically it is far from a road. It is more at the enduro end of the scale with some sand, whoops, ruts and a couple of water crossings. Maybe not for everyone.
It takes you from picturesque Bay of Fires to the sleepy hamlet of Gladstone where you can fuel up and rehydrate. It will also take you through an area called “The Gardens” which includes a track shared with MTB riders so take it easy and give them space without kicking up dust.
Whether you’re chasing a day trip or mapping out a longer adventure, we’ve got you covered with all the details you need to ride safely and enjoyably.
Gravel Roads & Scenic Tracks: Ride through tight, big-bike-friendly gravel roads framed by towering trees.
Challenging Sections: Navigate a few slow-going or eroded areas that test your riding skills.
Perfect Adventure: Ideal for a day trip or as part of a longer adventure, combining off-road excitement with natural beauty.
Entry & Track Conditions: The sandy nature will handle a fair amount of moisture without changing things too much but there is a couple of water crossings.
Navigation Tips: Shared track with MTB riders along Mother Logans Road – take it easy.
Safety & Preparation: Bring your usual adventure gear, plenty of water, and always let someone know your route. Ride within your limits, especially on loose gravel sections.
