Following the success of the inaugural Ducati Xpeditions High Country event, the 2026 edition will take riders on a spectacular six-day ride through South Australia, starting and finishing in the Barossa Valley and traversing deep into the iconic landscapes of the Flinders Ranges.
Following the success of Ducati Xpeditions, the Flinders Ranges edition is set to deliver an unforgettable blend of adrenaline, exploration, adventure. Developed in collaboration with maschine, one of Australia’s most respected adventure motorcycling experts, this immersive journey is designed specifically for Ducati Multistrada and DesertX riders looking to push boundaries both on and off the road.
Participants will traverse some of the most remote and picturesque terrain in the country, from rocky ridgelines, towering gorges, and bushland trails to sweeping gravel roads. Each route is carefully crafted to highlight the true capabilities of Ducati’s adventure machines, guided by seasoned experts to ensure an exhilarating yet accessible experience for riders of all skill levels.
This is more than just a ride it is a fully supported escape into the wild, complemented by premium hospitality and shared with a passionate community of Ducatisti.
The journey will be led by Ducati Adventure Product Specialist, Nick Selleck – beginning in picturesque Barossa Valley before heading to Flinders Ranges, and finishing back in Barossa Valley.
This ride is suitable for Ducati adventure models fitted with off-road tyres including Multistrada 950/V2, Multistrada 1260/V4, DesertX and DesertX Rally. This Ducati Xpeditions has been designed to focus on the journey and is suitable to a wide range of rider abilities from the first-time adventure rider to an intermediate off-road rider.

Option to freight your bike in to Adelaide and then ride the 1.5 hours out through the Adelaide hills to our start destination in Barossa wine country.
Welcome dinner and accommodation included tonight.
Today we bounce between the rocky hills and open farmland on our way north.
It takes time to take in the ancient landscape around Wilpena Pound so an extra day it is. Maybe book a sightseeing flight as another way to appreciate this land.
Big day today to finish it off on a high but the roads open out as we depart the hills of the Flinders and make our way across farmland that stretches for miles. Just because it’s open country doesn’t mean there’s not much to see – your eyes will be taking it all in.

Yes. You must present your licence at rider sign on and it must be a suitable licence with the appropriate endorsement to ride an open class motorcycle. Learners or probationary licences not suitable.
Yes. You must wear full riding gear and we advise you to wear appropriate riding gear for off-road adventure riding in changeable weather conditions:
The event is intended for riders with entry level to intermediate off-road riding experience. We do expect riders will have an good understanding and certain level of competency of riding a motorcycle on sealed roads and some experience on unsealed roads.
Should we experience adverse weather then the off-road riding may be amended to suit the level of experience of our group.
We highly recommend every participant in the course has off-road knobby style tyres fitted – like the Pirelli Rally STR that comes standard on the DesertX or Multistrada V4 with wire spoked wheels.
More road orientated tyres like the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II lack traction if conditions are wet on unsealed surfaces. Road type tyres may severely hamper your confidence and ability to progress along the route so it essential you fit off-road tyres.
No. The terrain we are riding on should be suitable for either cast alloy or wire spoked wheels. Tyres are the more critical element here.
We have essentially two routes planned to accommodate riders of all levels and bike models. For Multistrada riders we will have a route that is a mix of bitumen and open gravel roads.
For DesertX riders looking for a greater challenge we will offer Enduro sections that include more technical sections.
